This page explains how your decision making process on the value of time determines your own economic success. AS STRANGE AS THAT MAY SOUND, OUR 4 MINUTE PER DAY $14,615 ROM EXERCISE MACHINE IS THE LEAST EXPENSIVE WAY TO DO EXERCISE. The exactly 4 minutes required is the reason why people do this exercise whereas they do not do the alternative 30 to 90 minute conventional exercises that would give them the same or even lesser results than the 4 minutes on the ROM machine. People have plenty of good intentions but they do not have enough self discipline to do 30 to 90 minutes of exercise per day. Before I started using my own ROM machine I also tried and failed with the well intentioned 30 to 90 minute normal exercise programs. It is just something that the average normal human cannot succeed with no matter how determined one is. People brush their teeth People are able to discipline themselves to brush their teeth because it only takes a couple of minutes They keep brushing their teeth the rest of their life because it only takes a couple of minutes per day. If you were to tell people that good teeth brushing would require at least 20 minutes, there would be very few people left brushing their teeth any longer. And that is the problem with exercise that we keep telling people that exercise requires a minimum of about 30 minutes. That is true if you do all the very time consuming exercises that people do. But with a ROM-QuickGym it only takes 4 minutes per day. We are setting ourselves up for failure We keep buying millions worth of exercise equipment and use it a few weeks after which it is used as a clothehanger. So, OK it makes sense that 4 minutes is more doable and that people therefor will succeed with a 4 minute per day exercise. Does the QuickGym machine really work The question remains, does it reallt work. Well, so far 5100 people who bought a ROMQuickGym believe it because before they did purchase their machine they have rented the ROMQuickGym for 30 days to make absolutely certain that it indeed works exactly as advertised. Read their testimonials to see what they have experienced :http://www.fastexercise.com/testimonials.asp Anyway, to truly learn why this astounding machine works its magic in only 4 minutes per day, you will have to read quite a bit about the physiology involved in this type of exercise and why it is so very different and so very effective as compared to the conventional 30 to 60 minute methods of exercise. You can start with reading http://www.fastexercise.com/QandA.asp#1 USEAGE OF EXERCISE EQUIPMENT IN GENERAL Only 8% of conventional home exercise equipment is used and for our ROM machine that percentage is eleven times as high (between 85% and 90%). How do we know that high percentage? In 2005 we did a telephone survey of over 400 ROM machine owners that had owned a ROM machines at least one year. We asked them whether they were using their ROM machines to full advantage. When the answer was just slightly hesitant ("Yeah, yeah I use it." or "Yeah, I use it on the weekends when I have time" or "Yeah, I have used it, but my wife uses it more" or some other weak response) we marked those ones down as non users. We only counted as users those who very positively answered with such answers as "I love that thing and use it every day" or "I hate it every day but I use it. The results are great." or other such similar solidly positive responses. TIME IS OUR ONLY ASSET IN LIFE Every day we make time related decisions. The more often we get those decisions right the better we succeed in life. Our life is exclusively about time and what we do with that time. The proper use of time also determines the economic success of entire countries. We run out of useable time when we get ill or worse, when we die. It is inevitable that each of us will run out of time when we have reached the end of our life but it is not inevitable to run out of time because of illness. Illness is preventable with increasing capillary circulation. The lack of capillary circulation is the cause of over 90% of all illness and accelerated aging. Increasing capillary circulation will prevent illness (diabetes, high cholesterol, even cancer) and it will slow the aging process and boost the immune system. You can read about that at http://www.CapillaryCirculation.com/ YOU DO NOT NEED OUR $14,615 EXERCISE MACHINE You do not need our $14,615 QuickGym/ROM machine to increase capillary circulation. You can do it with no equipment at all or very inexpensive equipment for under $100. The difference is that it will take more time than 4 minutes and it will be less effective. On top of that the likelyhood that you will do 30 or more minutes of exercise is statistically slim to none. Only 8% of home exercise equipment is used on a regular basis. That is a shame but totally understandable because we are human and by nature we have a hard time doing something we do not like to do specially when it takes a lot of time. Brushing our teeth is doable because it only takes a few minutes. But if brushing teeth would require 30 minutes per day there would be very few people brushing their teeth. If that is true for brushing teeth then it can be easily understood that it is true for exercise. So if you can get exercise done in exactly 4 minutes per day then $14.615 is cheap, specially when that is also the difference between doing exercise and not doing exercise at all. Be realistic about it like we were when we purchased our very expensive $510,000 Laser Cutting Machine. That turned out to be a big bargain because that machine cuts a 4 x 10 foot sheet of steel into all the flat parts of steel that we need for a ROM machine in only 26 minutes and it cuts all the over 100 screw holes as well. That job would to take one man 3 days without that machine and the degree of acuracy is much greater as well. We all know that time is money and money is time and when we purchase a product or a service we try to evaluate whether we get our money's worth. We can do that by evaluating how much time we gain from the amount of money we spend for the product or service we purchase. If we divide the price we pay by the number of hours we gain, we find out what price we are paying for each hour we gain. WHAT A NOVEL CONCEPT! But it is not a new concept at all. We are all doing those calculations subconciously all day long. HOW DO PEOPLE VALUE TIME The value of time in people's mind fluctuates greatly from almost no value at all when people are wasting time aimlessly, and all the way to the other extreme when people would pay all the money in the World for just another day to live, another day of life. There is also a big difference between what people want to sell their time for and what they want to buy it for. For example a person taking a job for $20 per hour is selling time at $20 per hour. That same person would likely be willing to buy time at $4 per hour, but would rarely wish to buy time at $20 per hour. But a high wage earner selling his time at $200 per hour will likely be willing to buy time at $40 per hour and buy services and goods that save time at a cost of $40 per hour. SOME TIME DECISIONS PEOPLE HAVE LEARNED TO MAKE CORRECTLY 1. For most people a one way $300 airline ticket for a flight from Los Angeles to New York is a bargain for the 5 hour flight if it is compared to a $60 ticket on a train for 65 hours of travel. The savings of time is 60 hours at a cost difference of $240. It means that people are willing to pay $240 for the 60 hours of time saved. That is $4 per hour of time saved. Of course there are additional expenses that are associated with either flying or train travel. 2. The cost of time for commuting to work in the USA is an average of 46 minutes. For most people a car is a bargain as compared to a bicycle for that daily commute because a car will save at least 30 minutes or more over a bicycle commute. But the money cost for the 30 minutes per day time savings is at least $4 for gasoline and other costs of operating an automobile for 30 minutes. People will commute about 200 days per year. That is 100 hours of time savings for which people are willing to pay $8 per hour or $800 per year. The $8 per hour is a little high but people most likely are factoring in the pedaling work on a bicycle and occasional bad weather conditions. In areas with excellent public transportation commuting may be more attractive than driving a car. 3. For most people a $6 prepared fast food meal is a bargain as compared to the $2 purchase of food at the supermarket with which to prepare a meal at home. They save about an hour of shopping and meal preparation and they are willing to pay the $4 difference for that hour of time savings. TIME AND MONEY ARE THE DECIDING FACTORS As you can see, in each of these examples it is the cost of time that makes the higher priced option a bargain as compared to the lower priced option. And in every example people are willing to pay between $4 and $8 for each hour of time saved. So we can safely conclude that people value time for the above purposes at an average of $5 per hour. Time is money and they are interchangeable most of the time. For the people in the above shown examples time is worth $5 per hour. So most of the value decisions we make every day are decisions in which time plus money are the major factors. The decisions are based on how much we get out of the time and money spent. Time and money are often interchangeable. Time is money and money can save time. THERE ARE MANY INCORRECT DECISIONS THAT PEOPLE MAKE Now let us look at time decisions where people have not learned yet how to make the right decision: 1. When people take employment they will be "selling" their time for as much money as they can get for each hour of their time. Employers will be trying to pay as little as they can for the time they purchase from employees. Employees are converting time into money. Employers are converting money to time. If employees take a job that pays them $20 per hour they are "selling" their time for $20 per hour or $160 per 8 hour workday. But their cost of time plus cost of money for the $160 is more than the 8 hours they are selling. Added to the 8 hours they are selling are their time of commuting to the place of employment and the monetary expense associated with the commute. The average commute as learned above takes 46 minutes and costs $4 in car expenses. It would make sense to take a job for $19 per hour if that job were right where people live and would not require the 46 minute commute. But people are more likely to accept a $21 per hour job that requires a 90 minute commute than to take the $19 per hour job that is right next door. Not very smart, but some people are able to figure it out. 2. People will gladly drive one extra mile to a gas station (3 minutes, 6 minutes roundtrip) that sells gas at 5 cents per gallon cheaper. The 6 minutes round trip cost them 40 cents in automobile operating expense and that 6 minutes of time at a cost of $5 per hour costs another 50 cents. So they would have to buy at least 18 gallons of gas to get even saving 90 cents on the gas purchase. Unfortunately often the one mile farther away driving takes often longer than the extra 3 minutes because of an extra stop light and/or the waiting in line at those cheaper and busier gas stations. These gas stations only make sense if they are directly on the way, require no extra mile detour and have no long lines. WITH EXERCISE PEOPLE HAVE THE WORST RECORD OF MAKING THE RIGHT DECISIONS Most people know that exercise is a vital requirement to do preventive health maintenance and also improve health. Health of course is an important factor in extending the time we will live. In addition, time spent in good health is of course worth more than time spent in illness. And a healthy body is much cheaper to maintain with no need for medications and hospital visits that cost time and money. And fewer aches and pains of course. That is worth something as well. WHAT WILL EXERCISE DO FOR YOU Exercise will balance bloodsugar levels to prevent diabetes. It will prevent problems with blood circulation. It will regulate bloodpressure. It will aid normal digestion. It will maintain and increase muscle strength and reduce fat deposits. It aids flexibility and increases cardiovascular endurance, stamina. It will help prevent arthritis. It will slow down mental deterioration. Almost sounds too good to be true. PEOPLE KNOW MOST OF THIS BUT STILL DO NOT SUCCEED WITH EXERCISE All of this good wisdom does not make an impact on people that are younger and have not as yet had to deal with illness. Usually people become interested in preventive health maintenance by the time they are in very great need of repair and have already deteriorated to a deplorable state of low health and varying degrees of illness. PEOPLE SET THEMSELVES UP FOR FAILURE So what do they do when they finally have decided that they really need to start exercising: They invest in very time consuming methods of exercise, not realizing that they are setting themselves up for failure. THIS IS WHAT THEY ARE DOING WRONG 1. They buy a variety of exercise equipment that requires on average 30 to 60 minutes of time per day. Only 8% of home exercise equipment is used. The other 92% gathers dust and turns into clothes hangers. The 30 minutes (minimum) per day is a great deterrent for using the equipment and if it really were used it would cost $2.50 per day at the minimum $5 per hour time cost. 2. They join health clubs that require with the commute at least 90 minutes per visit. And only 12% of health club memberships are used on a regular basis. A percentage of that is used for social reasons to meet other people, predominantly young people. At a $30 per month membership it would cost $1 per day in money and at least $5 per visit in time expense plus $2 for the car commute. Total $8 per visit. 3. They hire a personal trainer at $35 or more per hour to function as a motivator, but they find out soon that it is also a very time consuming way and very time expensive plus of course money expensive as well. Total cost of $35 minimum in money and another $5 per hour of time expense (of course the time expense is over $200 for any lawyer or other high income individual that could use the same time to earn additional money). PEOPLE FAIL MISERABLY IN CALCULATING THE COST WITH OUR ROM A lot of people go into instant shock at seeing the $14,615 price of this least expensive method of exerrcise. These are many of the 40% of new car buyers that have no problem spending an extra $15,000 on their new car purchase for things that do not make the commute go any faster (little larger engine, leather seats, special paint job, 4 wheel drive, more room inside etc.). They will do that every 5 years or so. No problem. But spending only one time in their life $15,000 on a ROM machine for their health and the health of their family members and fewer illness days and a healthier longer life span gets them all in a tizzy. They look at this 405 pound ROM machine and wonder why it is so expensive. Well, we here at the ROM factory will gladly buy these very expensive automatic manufacturing machines for our 82,000 square foot factory that is exclusively manufacturing ROM machines. We have manufactured over 5100 of them so far since 1990 and if people were able to do the math we should have sold at least 100,000 of them. But all the so called "experts" in this field of exercise physiology kill potential ROM sales for us on a regular basis (personal trainers, doctors, sports coaches etc.). We have purchased a $510,000 laser cutting machine and if you look at it you see maybe $50,000 in steel and component parts. Yet we quickly concluded that the machine was a bargain because it will in 26 minutes cut as many steel parts as what would require 24 man-hours before. So the machine is a bargain for us because it saves so many man-hours. Expensive automatic tube bender, vertical mills and CNC lathe, CNC press brake, large capacity CNC steel cutting saw and centerless grinders are all bargains for us even though they cost from $70,000 to $220,000 each. THE REALITY IS, THE ROM IS THE BIGGEST BARGAIN A FAMILY CAN BUY The reality is that the ROM is the biggest bargain there is in matters of exercise. First of all it is the only method of exercise that most people will be able to persuade themselves to do, because of the extremely low 4 minute cost of time. There is absolutely no less expensive exercise available than our ROM machine. Do the math. The per day cost of time is 4 minutes. That is the reason why over 85% of ROM owners actually use our ROM to full advantage as opposed to only 8% of use for conventional regular exercise equipment. The average married couple aged around 55 years of age can expect to use the ROM for 25 years if they expect to live to 80 years of age. That would be about 15000 uses during those 25 years and that would be around $1 per use at the current price of our ROM machine, plus only 4 minutes cost of time. There is no less expensive exercise available. From commercial use of our ROM machine we have learned that there are ROM machines that have been in health clubs for over 20 years and they have endured over 200,000 uses without need of repair or overhaul. This means that the 55 year old couple can leave the ROM in their will to at least 4 generations down the line. ADDITIONAL BENEFITS The people would also add a higher degree of health to their life plus they might add a few years to their lifespan and that earns them $120 per day in extra time at a low $5 per hour worth of time. That is an amazing $43800 for extra hours of life per year. And the higher degree of health and quality of life is of course priceless. So in the final calculation the ROM will earn them money instead of costing anything. On top of that, as mentioned above, there are at least 180,000 uses left in the ROM after they are the dearly departed and that is good for another 4 generations of their decendants. ROM too expensive? You've got to be kidding or you cannot do the math.
